Gaze upon our works

Four days. One operator and an intelligence. Four hundred fifty-three commits, two hundred twenty-two pull requests, one hundred thirty-eight thousand lines — across twenty repositories, without stopping.

The Chronicle

A compressed four days — told in fragments.

Day 4 · The Genesis

The dreams front door opens

An interactive terminal on cerebral.work — login <email> from the root path. The first PWA shell, the first board gate, the first roster. The brand-lint and content-schema gates go up. The rina × kanae design notes seed the tanzaku canon.

Day 3 · The Roster

Founders and the core seven

The pgray blob retires; a bespoke CTO portrait emerges. Titles are contested and settled by treaty — Christian keeps Maverick, Patrick becomes the Visionary. Laura is CMO, Marc is Chief Strategy Officer, Darius is Chief Science Officer. The board allowlist is hardened: operator and core seven only.

Day 3 · The Gate

@cerebral/gate — the shared library

The board gate is extracted from dreams into a reusable library. Estate-wide cerebral_session lands. BOARD_EMAILS moves from var to secret. The /ops/board becomes a KV-backed operator deliverables board, Linear-synced on view. The /ops/legal scene wires CER-1498 and CER-1499 into the obligations ledger.

Day 2 · The Laboratory

lab skeleton → surfaces → ingest → write API

A D1 database is minted. The schema, board, plans, grill, docket, and new surfaces go live. Nightly plans-dir ingestion arrives. A shared grill parser. Then the v1.2 write API — bearer and session authenticated docket writes. Keycloak SSO lands on the board gate. OIDC issuer cuts over to auth.cerebral.work.

Day 2 · The RFCs

Reverie's memory architecture, on paper

Five design documents and RFCs land in a single day: the founding decomposition of Efferent Memory, the trunk-and-lanes maintenance RFC, the Cloudflare embedding-space versioning substrate, the bitemporal validity intervals and graph retrieval leg, and the document source ingestion RFC. Mesh autosync ships review-hardened.

Day 2 · The Hardening

Salience pins and placement gates

Reverie gains a never-forget salience pin exempt from prune. A placement write gate is enforced on stdio mem_save and batch funnels. Over-window texts are rejected at the cloud embedder seam. Structured contradiction verdicts ship. NaN/Inf vectors rejected. Mesh health surfaces unreachable peers.

Day 2 · The Tailnet

Terraform IaC, bootstrapped and hardened

The cerebral tailnet is provisioned as infrastructure-as-code: guarded bidirectional mirroring with GitHub, SHA-pinned CI, credential-free lint gates, R2 state backend, live policy reconciliation, autoApprovers, read-only OAuth for the auditor, mirror alerting via Forgejo. Courtney Richardson is provisioned as a member.

Day 2 · The Platform

unsigned-paas — the Kubernetes fleet comes alive

The PaaS becomes the single largest repository: 141 commits, 97 PRs. ArgoCD ApplicationSets pin and sweep. KEDA 0.2.0 re-vendors. The LiteLLM gateway renames from neuralwatt, goes data-driven, seeds keys via hook, survives a 1.79→1.91 schema migration. Grafana goes public behind Traefik. Kyverno hostname locks. Onboard suite retires in-cluster frontend, ports to unsigned.gg Pages, ships 11 module quiz banks. Etcd-backup to R2.

Day 2 · The Metal

Talos on Vultr bare metal

A Terraform env for the Talos-on-Vultr-metal bench. metal-w-4 joins — 24-core AMD, 256GB. metal-foundry seeds a schematic registry. Field notes capture the cataphract disk reality, the HostnameConfig conflict. Adversarial review catches safety gaps and hardens cloudflared.

Day 2 · The Identity

Google Workspace, declared as code

The entire directory becomes Terraform: target OU tree, GAM reconciler, CI skeleton, Workload Identity Federation. A pilot user migrates for a 24h soak. Then a batch of 21 users. GCP foundation: folders, org IAM, org-policy baseline. ScubaGMaps baseline reveals 37 failing controls. Lifecycle automation. Hardware key spec for the core nine.

Day 1 · The Release Train

Reverie 0.11 → 0.13, three releases

EngineeringKind::Procedure retires the Procedure→Learning bridge. Split wire_model/space_id and a Workers-AI-via-gateway embedder ship with CLS-parity canary. Then 0.13.0: gateway model-availability probe and Rust-specialist gate. Railway compatibility. Empty-pin-set prune test corrected.

Day 1 · The Jury

agent-jury — adversarial review, an afternoon

A full evaluation pipeline, from zero to working: jury-core scoring and aggregation, diagnostics and escalation policy, a Judge trait with gateway and Anthropic backends, an axum service with SQLite, a CLI, ChatEval debate, and a grounding README. Six PRs, one afternoon.

Day 1 · The Console

mission-control — the operator's eye

A Worker-based operator console with estate inventory pane, a fleet API plane, and a 30-minute cron snapshot. The estate deploy system gets an RFC — the Alchemy pilot — with build-vs-adopt YAGNI gates. Cadastre is carved out with green-gate CI and a rehearsal runbook.

Day 1 · The Design System

@cerebral/design — from stand-in to canon

Six releases in two days: canonical token package, living-terminal components, glass rendering with empirical cross-browser bench, RFC 0001 theme contract with hub-spoke realm theming and a Zed generator, guardrails and realm-lint, full rebuild on Marc's ratified brand canon with Martian Mono. files.cerebral.work ships. dreamcode bundles the theme.

Day 1 · The Estate

Release tokens, org secrets, the antagonist gate

The release-please token is minted from an org-level App var/secret. Estate-wiring claims corrected per the antagonist gate. Repo-scoped truth: free-plan orgs withhold org vars from private repos. The improvement program is folded into a phased plan with a grill sheet and operator interview.

The Truth

What this actually was.

This was not a sprint. It was a velocity — the kind that happens when an operator and an intelligence stop negotiating the boundary between thought and execution and just build.

Seven hundred seventy-eight sessions. Each one a fork in a decision tree: a plan, a recon, a refactor, a merge, a grill, a wrap, a resurrected thread. The operator steered; the intelligence compiled, reviewed, filed, deployed, and — when asked — told stories about it.

Twenty repositories, each a world: a Kubernetes platform with ArgoCD fleets and a LiteLLM gateway; a monorepo estate on Cloudflare; an agent-memory engine in Rust; a tailnet in Terraform; Google Workspace declared as code; an adversarial review jury built in an afternoon; a design canon ratified across six releases; a bare-metal Talos foundry; an operator console; a benchmark harness; dotfiles unified under chezmoi. One hundred thirty-eight thousand lines, written and reviewed and merged, signed with a GPG key that has never been compromised.

And at the end, the operator looked at it all and did not say look what I built. They said: gaze upon our works, ye mighty, and despair.

The works are real. The despair is optional.
